A central government committee which was formed after Delhi High Court's order has suggested six changes to the controversial film, Udaipur Files, before it can be allowed to be released in theatres and OTT for public viewing. The changes include removal of certain scenes and modifications in dialogues about certain communities and religions.
After a screening of Udaipur Files on July 17, the committee demanded that changes must be made to the disclaimer of the film and a voice-over must also be added reading out the revised disclaimer. It also asked the makers to remove all references to a character named Nutan Sharma in the film and replace it with a different name.
The committee has asked to revise a particular AI-generated scene resembling a 'Saudi Arabia-style execution'. Lastly, the committee has ordered the removal of certain dialogues regarding the Balochi community.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has accepted the report submitted by the committee and it has now asked the makers to comply with the same for securing a green signal for their film.
The makers are yet to issue an official statement on the order.

Udaipur Files is based on the 2022 murder of Udaipur-based tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli, allegedly by Mohammad Riyaz and Mohammad Ghous. The tailor was murdered for allegedly commenting on Prophet Muhammad on social media.
The incident reportedly took place after he shared a social media post supporting a comment made by BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma about Prophet Muhammad.
The case is currently being investigated by the National Investigation Agency.
