Rang Rasiya: A visual treat

The makers of ‘Rang Rasiya’ have launched a virtual gallery tab of Raja Ravi Varma’s paintings on their film’s official Facebook page. ‘Rang Rasiya’, featuring Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen, is based on the life and times of the controversial 19th century legendary Indian painter Raja Ravi Varma.

The Facebook tab titled ‘Raja Ravi Varma Art Gallery’ is a collection of prominent works by the gifted artist along with interesting stories about them for avid art lovers. It gives fans a glimpse of his immense talent and his flair for bringing to life the beauty of human nature.

His creations titled Urvashi Pururavas, Draupadi at Virata’s palace and Yashodha with Krishna among others demonstrate his genius as a painter.

To view the art gallery, all you have to do is click on the tab, enter the gallery and browse through his works of art while also leaving comments on your favourite paintings. For the unaware, Raja Ravi Varma was the first artist to paint images of gods and goddesses on canvas and was hugely inspired by Indian culture. He was accused of promoting vulgarity and adultery through his art. Even though his paintings were masterpieces of art yet he was condemned in court for his new age thinking. Considered to be one of the greatest artists in Indian history, the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma find places of prominence across the world today.

‘Rang Rasiya’, the film, is a story complete with passion, ambition, persistence, lust and tragedy. Presented by Jayantilal Gada (Pen), and directed by Ketan Mehta, the film is produced by Deepa Sahi and Aanand Mahendroo and is set to release on November 7 this year.
