Actor Ram Kapoor, in a recent interview, opened up about his financial struggles during the early days of his career and how his wife, actress Gautami Kapoor, supported him during tough times.

In a conversation with Moneycontrol, Ram admitted, "When I married Gautami, I lived off her income for the first year. She used to film for a show called Lipstick, and I had no employment. I would get up, make her coffee, and she would leave for work while I stayed at home for a complete year."

Ram began his acting journey with Doordarshan, where he earned just Rs 1,000 per day. His breakthrough came with the television show Ghar Ek Mandir, where he met Gautami. The show not only gave him recognition but also sparked a real-life romance. However, financial stability remained a challenge.

"There were good years when I was earning well, and then there were years when there was no work at all," Ram recalled. During the interview, he also said that he stayed committed to his craft, even when there was uncertainty about income.

His career took a significant turn with Ektaa Kapoor's Kasamh Se, which turned him into a household name. "I started at Rs 1,500 per day. It was challenging. But Gautami stood by me. And look where we are now," Ram stated.

Calling Kasamh Se a 'watershed moment,' Ram also credited his daughter for changing his life. "Just when the show started, my daughter was born and I never looked back. The minute she came, everything changed," he added.

Meanwhile, Ram was last seen as Armaan Dadabhoy Mistry in Mistry. The actor has not announced any of his upcoming projects yet.
