The makers of ‘Mary Kom’, a biopic on the Olympian Mary Kom, are leaving no stone unturned to promote their film whose trailer has been appreciated by everyone so far. At the song launch event of the much-awaited film, actress Priyanka Chopra sang the lullaby from the film live for the audience, following in the footsteps of Alia Bhatt, Shraddha Kapoor and Akshay Kumar who have done a similar act to promote their films in the recent past! It should be noted that Priyanka has already made her international singing debut with her songs ‘In my city…’ and ‘Exotic…’ earlier.

Also seen at the launch event were the boxer Mary Kom and her husband Onler Kom, along with Omung Kumar, Darshan Kumar, Sunil Thapa and Sanjay Leela Bhansali with his mother. Sharing their experiences, Priyanka said that the day when Omung showed the film to Mary Kom for the first time, she was very anxious to know her response. In fact Priyanka Chopra was shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ in Turkey then. What’s more, the actress said that those three hours were very crucial and she was very anxious waiting to know Mary’s response. It’s said that Mary was overwhelmed and even shed a few tears after watching the film, as it rightly depicted her struggles in life.

Later, when Priyanka and Mary were chatting the actress revealed to the media that in real life Mary loves watching Bollywood films and singing. On everyone’s insistence, Mary then sang ‘Aaj main upar, aasma neeche…’ from the film ‘Khamoshi’ for the audience, which aptly suited the occasion. Cute, we say!
