Oscars 2025 are currently going on. The 97th Academy Awards are taking place at Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. While everyone is looking forward to know who will win the prestigious awards host Conan O'Brien has also grabbed the attention by trying to speak in Hindi at the award function. Yes, your read it!

For Indian audience, who are watching Oscars, Conan spoke in Hindi. He said, "For those of you watching from India, I would say 'Bharat ke logo ko namaskar. Waha subah ho chuki hai toh mujhe umeed hai ke aap naashte ke saath Oscars ke aanand' (Greetings to India. It is morning there, so I hope you enjoy Oscars with breakfast)'."

Well, to be honest, Conan's Hindi was not proper, and even netizens are not happy with it. They feel that the American television host has butchered the language.

A netizen posted, "Good attempt, but frankly, Conan totally butchered the Hindi greeting!" Another X user wrote, "My ears bleeding at Conan's Hindi pronunciation." One more netizen shared, "Tf did Conan say in Hindi? I couldn’t understand a single word."

Well, it was a good attempt, but clearly, you need to watch the video for a few times to understand what excatly Conan is trying to say.

Meanwhile, this year, at the Oscars, India had received only one nomination. A film titled Anuja was nominated in the Best Live Action Short Film category. However, it lost and I'm Not a Robot, a Dutch film won the award.

Last year, To Kill a Tiger was nominated in the Best Documentary Feature Film, but couldn't win. However, in 2023, India had won two Oscars, Best Original Song (For Naatu Naatu) and The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary (Short Subject) award.

So, this year, we didn't win an Oscar, let's hope that maybe next year, India gets lucky.
