A city civil court has restrained writer, producer and youtuber Kamaal R. Khan from making defamatory social media posts on actor Salman Khan through an ad-interim order in a defamation suit filed on him by Salman Khan.
Salman Khan and his production company had filed a defamation suit claiming damages of Rs. 90 lakhs from the former Big Boss contestant, also known as KRK. The latter had during the first hearing of the suit on 27 May, told the court that he will not make defamatory remarks on the actor till the next date of hearing.
Salman Khan has made social media platforms Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Youtube as well as Google defendants in the suit for publishing the content. While Kamaal R Khan, had claimed over social media that he was sued due to his critical review of Salman Khan’s film Radhe, the latter’s law firm had released a statement in which it had negated this. It said that the suit has been filed because the defendant has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations that Salman Khan is corrupt. He has also alleged that Khan and his brand ‘Being Human’ are involved in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions.
“The defendant has been spreading malicious falsehoods and defaming Mr. Salman Khan consistently over several months, clearly with the view to attract attention towards himself,” the law firm DSK Legal had said.
