Marathi movie ‘Sairat’ emerges blockbuster, earns Rs 41.11 cr

New Delhi: After garnering praise from Bollywood stars such as Aamir Khan, Ritiesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor, the Marathi film ‘Sairat’ has collected Rs 41.11 crore, emerging as a blockbuster at the Box office.

Trade analyst Taran Adash recently tweeted, “Marathi film #Sairat creates HISTORY… Emerges a BLOCKBUSTER…”

“Marathi film #Sairat [Week 1] ? 25.50 cr. [Week 2] Fri 3.84 cr, Sat 4.12 cr, Sun 4.61 cr, Mon 3.04 cr. Total: ? 41.11 cr. FANTABULOUS!.”   Yesterday, Aamir applauded the movie by tweeting, 

Actor Ritiesh Deshmukh had also lauded the film earlier, saying he feels that ‘Sairatt’ deserves to be the highest-grossing Marathi film ever.

Directed by Nagraj Manjule, the forthcoming romance film that follows the story of Parshya, a low-caste man, and Archie, the daughter of an upper caste landlord, who fall in love despite pressures from society, was released in India on 29 April 2016.
