Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar who was invited to Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony on Monday in New Delhi couldn’t make it to the event. But instead she sent a handwritten letter to Narendra Modi apologising for not being able to make it to his oath taking ceremony as India’s 14th Prime Minister and wishing him all the best.

Not only that, Narendra Modi even took a moment to tweet out a message of gratitude to the legendary vocalist in turn. The tweet, which was accompanied by the picture of a letter Mangeshkar had sent to Modi on account of her being unable to attend the ceremony she was invited to, read, ““Thank you Lata Didi. As always, your greetings and best wishes inspire me deeply.”
