Heropanti’ starring Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon is all set to hit the theatres and the whole promotion whirl has started for these newcomers. Even though it is a completely new experience for Tiger, Kriti has worked in Southern cinema with one of the biggest stars, Mahesh Babu.
Says the pretty lass, “It was a very enriching experience. Although the way films are made down South and in Bollywood have the same technicalities, the overall experience of working in a Telugu film was very different because I didn’t speak the language. Still, it was a wonderful learning curve for me,” she beams.
From the day the film has been announced, Tiger has been in the spotlight all over and a lot of attention has been given to him. This is something that Kriti is unfazed by. “A star kid has a better connect with the audience, so there’s more hype about their launch pad. But when you are an outsider, people hardly know you and the interest is comparatively lesser. As an outsider, I feel I have more time to establish myself in the industry and cement my place.”
“Debutant actors without a film background face a different set of challenges, because there are very few expectations from them. But even star kids face challenges. A star kid has to carry a burden of expectations and comparisons with their star parents, right from the very start. It could be really tough,” feels Kriti. The duo has recently got on the promotional bandwagon and it has started to take a toll on the newbies.
“It has been a lot of fun till now, though the promotional tours can be very tiring. We have just started our promotional tours and I already feel quite exhausted. While going to different cities and meeting new people is fun, the difficult part is doing back to back interviews. People ask you the same questions all the time. But promotions are a very important part of filmmaking these days and you need to take it very seriously,” she nods. Not just this, Kriti has been successful in bagging a role in one of the biggest franchises – ‘Housefull 3’, which would again be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala.
