Janhvi Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra are set to collaborate on-screen for the first time in Param Sundari, which is slated for a theatrical release on July 25, 2025. However, reports suggest that the film might be postponed, as Ajay Devgn recently announced that Son of Sardaar 2 will also release on the same date.
As per a report by Peeping Moon, Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 is set to enjoy a solo release, effectively ruling out any box office clash with Param Sundari. However, an official announcement from the team behind Sidharth's and Janhvi's film is still awaited. The report states that Dinesh Vijan, producer at Maddock Films, who is backing Param Sundari, recently made the decision.
Reportedly, an insider close to Dinesh stated that the producer believes Param Sundari has strong commercial potential and doesn’t want it to get lost in a crowded release schedule.
"July already has three other musical romantic dramas — films in the same genre as 'Param Sundari' — which could compromise both visibility and reception for Vijan's release. Furthermore, the film’s music is integral to its identity, and Vijan feels that releasing it amidst other similar films would dilute its impact. So he has strategically opted to reposition the film to ensure it receives the attention it deserves, both for its narrative and its music," added the report.
Reportedly, the makers of Param Sundari are considering an August release, while September seems less likely due to Janhvi's other film, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, releasing on September 12, which could create a conflict with her promotional commitments.
Now, Devgn's Son of Sardaar 2 will only face a box office clash with Hollywood’s The Fantastic Four: The First Steps, which is also set for a theatrical release on July 25.
