Bollywood filmmaker Siddharth Anand dropped a cryptic note on his social media handle on Thursday night, in which he wrote about insecurity and having faith on oneself. While he did not take names, netizens guessed that the director was taking potshots at Akshay Kumar's recently-released film, Sky Force.
Siddharth took to his X handle on Tuesday and wrote, "Hahahaha!! Insecurity hits new lows! I feel so important today! Have faith in your own self! Come on yo!! (sic)."
"An old saying - By blowing off another candle, won’t make yours burn brighter! But alas... (sic)," he added.
While he did not share a context for his tweet, netizens wondered if it was dig at the comparisons between the director's 2024 film, Fighter, and Akshay Kumar's latest release Sky Force.

Both the films tell the tales of Indian Air Force, albeit with very different storylines. However, several critics who reviewed Sky Force drew comparisons between the film and Fighter, and netizens felt that the cryptic note was Siddharth's answer to those comparisons.
"After watching the trailer just felt a copy of Ajay Devgan Bhuj and Hrithik's Fighter! (sic)," a user commented under Siddharth's post, while another wrote, "Who will win the final battle? Fighter or Skyforce? (sic)."

Sky Force released in theatres on Friday (January 24), exactly a year after Fighter's release. The Akshay Kumar-starrer is reportedly based on true events from 1965 when India carried out its first-ever airstrike on Pakistan.
During the operation, Squadron Leader Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya's aircraft was shot by an enemy aircraft, and he went missing in Pakistani territory. Despite multiple attempts by the Indian government to find him, he could not be traced, and was eventually presumed dead.

Besides Akshay, Sky Force also marks the debut of Veer Pahariya, along with extended cameos by Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur. The film has been directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, under the banner of Maddock Films.
