Filmmaker Tarun Mansukhani made his Bollywood debut with Dostana which starred Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham, and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. The film became a hit at the box office, and of course, it was expected that Tarun would make more movies. However, that didn't happen, and he took a long break before making a comeback with the 2019 release Drive, which starred Sushant Singh Rajput and Jacqueline Fernandez in the lead roles. Recently, during an interview with Just Too Filmy, Tarun revealed that he took a break because he went through an unpleasant and expensive divorce.
He stated, "A lot happened in life. I went through a divorce. It wasn't a pleasant one. It was an expensive one for me, and life just took its own turns. I was not in a bandwidth or headspace to make a film. What I knew at that point in time was that I am in debt, and I need to sort that out. I don't want to make a film because I will make money, or get paid for it. The moment I do that I know everything I do is tainted by that."
"I am making a film in fear. I am not going to be fun on that set either. So, what's the point of being there? So, I did all the other things in life that I could to make that debt go away. Finished my debt, cleared everything, and then started working on another film," the filmmaker added.

Housefull 5 Box Office Collection
Meanwhile, Tarun's latest directorial Housefull 5 has been doing resonably well at the box office. The film, in 10 days, has collected Rs. 154.25 crore. But, reportedly, it is mounted on a budget of Rs. 225 crore, so it surely continue to collect huge numbers at the box office to be declared as a hit.
