After becoming a mother in 2021, Anushka Sharma was all set to make her acting comeback with Indian cricketer Jhulan Goswami’s biopic titled Chakda Xpress. The film started rolling in mid-2022 and was wrapped up by the end of the year. The movie was supposed to premiere on Netflix, but later some reports suggested that the deal with the OTT platform had been cancelled.
Now, there have been reports that Chakda Xpress has been shelved, which is quite shocking, as the film's shooting was already wrapped up. Hum Aapke Hain Koun actress Renuka Shahane, who plays a pivotal role in the film, spoke to NDTV and opened up about the reports that the movie is being shelved.
She stated, “I am totally heartbroken. Basically, because I think everyone has put in so much effort. Anushka has also worked on herself so much for it. And whatever scenes I did were so powerful and so impactful, especially for women in sports."

The actress added, “Jhulan Goswami is iconic, and coming from a very poor house and making it big—and yet the kind of discrepancy that still exists between men’s cricket and women’s cricket, and all other sports, I would say—Chakda Xpress had that core quality of sportsmanship.”
