Veteran actors Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan starred in the 2003 film Baghban, and one of the talking points of the film was their unmissable chemistry. Filmmaker Ravi Chopra's wife Renu Chopra has now revealed how Hema had asked the makers to stitch her blouse tighter to perfectly nail a scene with Big B.

Renu told Pinkvilla that the incident happened during the shoot of the scene in which Big B's character admires Hema's character in the mirror while she gets readyy. "Hema asked me to stitch her blouse a bit tight so that when Amit ji comes, he can fasten the blouse tightly. She said, ‘That touch would give me the look I want', one that conveyed, ‘He’s touched me. After so many years of being married, it meant so much.’ She is a very romantic person in real life," Renu quipped.

Renu also revealed how it was a stressful task to find a distributor for Baghban as most of them felt the film was "outdated". But upon its release, it went on to become a hit, and it achieved a cult status over the years.

Baghban also starred Aman Verma, Samir Soni, Divya Dutta, Paresh Rawal, Rimi Sen, Lillete Dubey, Sharat Saxena, and others, in key roles. It also had an unforgettable cameo by Salman Khan and Mahima Chaudry.

Baghban was directed by Ravi Dubey and it was produced by BR Chopra. The film narrated the story of an elderly couple who sacrifice everything for their children, but post retirement, their sons refuse to care of them together and instead, separate them. Heartbroken, they finally find support in Alok (Salman Khan), an orphan they raised. The film ends with Big B's character penning a book on his ordeal and it turning out to be a bestseller. While his sons then seek forgiveness, the couple decides to live together on their own terms happily ever after.
