Mrunal Thakur recently faced backlash after an old video from her Kumkum Bhagya days went viral, in which she called Bipasha Basu "manly with muscles." On Thursday, the actress apologised, explaining that she was just 19 years old when the interview was taken and admitted to saying "silly" things at the time. Now, Hina Khan and Uorfi Javed have extended their support to Mrunal, acknowledging that they too have made mistakes in the past and stating that people evolve with time.
Hina Khan's Reaction To Mrunal Thakur's Old Video
Hina wrote, "Wisdom is the fruit of the tree of Knowledge, rooted in experiences. Evolution of our social skills, communication and depth of understanding only comes with TIME We all make mistakes, especially when we are younger. I can very well relate to Mrunal, I too have made such silly mistakes in the past.. Some of us go through great exposure without the skill to handle it. But with time we evolve, we become kinder, we become compassionate.. We learn lifting each other up.. Fixing each other’s crown."
She added that she has witnessed both Bipasha’s and Mrunal’s inspiring journeys in the industry, calling both of them "fab." Hina described Bipasha as an icon for the entire community and expressed that she is glad and proud that Mrunal acknowledged her mistake.
Hina also urged everyone to end the “circus,” sharing that Bipasha’s muscles had inspired a generation of women, including both herself and Mrunal. "Let’s spread LOVE and be kind. let’s try and make each other stronger while we acknowledge our differences," she added.
Uorfi Javed On Mrunal Thakur-Bipasha Basu Controversy
Uorfi Javed also supported Mrunal, stating that when people are young, they may not know any better, but they learn and grow with each passing day.
"We all have said things in the past to which we don’t agree anymore cause we evolve we change, our morals also change, ideologies too. I’ve said some sh*t in the past interview too which I’m not proud of," wrote Uorfi on her Instagram story.
Bipasha Basu On Mrunal Thakur's Comments
Earlier, Bipasha also reacted to Mrunal's old video, while she did not mention her name directly, netizens were convinced that it was meant for her.
On Wednesday (August 13), Bipasha took to social media to share a quote that read, ‘Strong women lift each other up.’ Along with it, the actress penned a note that read: "Get those muscles beautiful ladies, we should be strong. Muscles help you attain, good physical and mental health forever! Bust the age old thought process that women should not look strong or be physically strong."
