Legendary Tollywood filmmaker SS Rajamouli found himself in a major controversy after a man named Srinivasa Rao, who claimed to be a 'close friend' of the RRR director, accused the former of driving him to contemplating suicide. He accused Rajamouli of mental harassment and stated that a woman was the reason behind the rift between the two bestfriends.
Srinivasa recorded a video stating his ordeal and also left a suicide note for the cops, in which he blamed Rajamouli for his death.
"I have no option but to die by suicide. Rajamouli is the reason I am still single at 55. We worked together until Yamadonga, but he ruined my career for a woman," Srinivasa claimed in his statement, according to News18 Telugu.
Srinivasa claimed that he had a 34-year-long friendship with Rajamouli, but their relationship turned sour due to a love triangle involving a woman. He claimed that the Baahubali director initially loved the woman, but later he (Srinivasa) also fell for her. But for the sake of their friendship, Srinivasa sacrificed his love, the report stated.
He went on to say that after Rajamouli became a "star director", he began doubting Srinivasa's loyalty and started harassing him. "I am 55 now. I am unable to bear this harassment anymore," he said.
He stated that despite trying to make Rajamouli understand and mend things with him, the director failed to understand due to the "woman's influence".
Srinivasa also mentioned in the video that he was not doing any of it for "publicity". "I am 55 now and I can no longer endure this harassment," he said.
He urged the police to conduct a lie detector test on Rajamouli, and also accused the director of practicing black magic and claimed that the he has suppressed all his rival filmmakers.
It is unclear if Srinivasa was saved after his video surfaced online. Meanwhile, Rajamouli is yet to react to the sensational claims.
