Bollywood actor Govinda surprised fans on Friday (June 20) by unveiling his brand new look on Instagram. His photo and video left fans both excited and confused. The 61-year-old actor, who ruled the silver screen in the 1990s with his energetic dance moves and impeccable comic timing, appeared nearly unrecognisable in the latest photo.
Sporting a moustache, thicker hair, oversized sunglasses, and a three-piece tweed suit over a crisp white shirt, Govinda struck a pose that had fans doing a double take.
What also drew attention, for the wrong reasons, was the unusual background of the photo, which appeared littered with trash, raising questions about the choice of location.
In addition to the photo, Govinda also shared a short video where he walks towards the camera with his trademark swag, adding fuel to fan speculation about a possible comeback.
While many flooded the comments with praise, calling him handsome and asking if he’s returning to films, some were left puzzled, unsure whether the person in the image was actually Govinda.
"Is this really Govinda?" wrote one confused fan, while another commented, "You’re looking dashing, sir! Waiting for your comeback."
"Comeback karne ka mood bana rahe hai 🔥❤️ apna hero no 1," wrote another Instagram user under his post.
"Market me Itne Saare Aa Gye Pata Nahi Chalta Asli Hai Ya Nakhli," read another comment.
On the work front, the actor has kept a relatively low profile in recent years. Over the last couple of years, he has appeared as a guest in several television reality show. He also judged Dance Bangla Dance in 2021.
Govinda's last film was Rangeela Raja, which released in 2019. It also starred Shakti Kapoor, Digangana Suryavanshi, Prem Chopra and others. In the film, he played double roles. The actor has not announced anything about his comeback yet.
