Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan reacted to the dramatic moment during the Manchester Test when England skipper Ben Stokes offered a draw to Team India, which was declined by Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar. The incident took place with around 15 overs left on the final day, as India aimed to salvage a draw and keep the series alive.
On Monday (July 28), Big B reacted to a social media post that read, "Ben Stokes 🏴 offers a draw 🤝🏻 – India 🇮🇳 denies and continues to bat 🧐 – What’s your take on this?"
The megastar replied in his trademark witty style, writing, "Take !?? अरे गोरे को टिका (tika – sorry tayka दिया ) दिया रे." The post, laced with mockery and a pun, quickly went viral, with fans applauding Big B's cheeky take.
On the field, Jadeja went on to score a defiant 107*, while Washington Sundar remained unbeaten at 101*.
The Manchester Test, which appeared to be heading for a quiet draw, took an unexpected turn when England captain Stokes approached the Indian batters and offered a handshake to end the match before the final hour began. However, Team India declined the offer and opted to continue batting.
Post this, However, the England team's frustration became evident as they resorted to bowling exaggerated long hops, often referred to as "donkey drops," seemingly in protest against India's decision to continue batting.
England players were reportedly miffed by the decision. However, once both Indian batters reached their respective milestones, they finally shook hands with the English side, ending the Test in a dramatic draw.
