Evelyn Sharma: I read so that I can implement

Model-actress Evelyn Sharma has a real passion for entrepreneurial books, she tells SHIKHA JAIN

Business edge

I really enjoy reading entrepreneurial books that help me to learn something that I can implement in my life. I recently read the book Cost-o-vation talking about cost effective innovation and was extremely inspired by it.

Devoted reader

I started reading in my early teens, I have always loved reading. Nowadays, Netflix distracts me a lot though and I have to admit that.

A different world

The best part about reading is the journey into another imaginary world created by your own thoughts and the book you are reading. It stimulates your brain and creativity to a different level than anything else.

Experimenting is fine

I prefer reading entrepreneurial books, but I also like to experiment with my reading taste sometimes.

Physical copy all the way

I’m old-school, I prefer the physical copy because I like to feel the pages as I read and don’t even get me started about the smell of a new book! I do enjoy apps like Blinkist too that give you short audio summaries of books.

Books – the best gifts

Of course, reading helps in so many ways! It helps me relax and rejuvenate, to learn new things. It also helps in exercising the brain and improving your vocabulary. In fact, I suggest everyone should read more. My friends will tell you I’m that boring person who gifts books all the time.

Buying obsession

My friends recommend books they think I would like and I also check the New York Times bestsellers sometimes to get some new options. The best books have been ones I picked up on random strolls through the airport bookstore whenever I had time before boarding. I have an obsession with buying books and beauty products at the duty free.
