YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia aka The Beer Biceps has urged people not to share unverified news and fact check information with official sources before sharing on social media. This comes amid conflict between India and Pakistan.

Tension between both the countries escalated after the Pakistan launched drone and missile attacks across several Indian states, including Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir on May 8. Indian forces successfully neutralised each of these threats.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Ranveer shared a video featuring dramatised coverage of India-Pakistan conflict. He also opined that parents must be 'discouraged' from watching news.

"At this point, I almost feel it's our responsibility to discourage our parents from watching the news. Lies, misinformation & propaganda. Saw it first hand a few months ago. Dying industry," he wrote.

Ranveer's video also featured Aam Aadmi Party leader Raghav Chadha, who also feels that news channels sensationalise news these days.

"This is not a concern only for you but also for a large population of the country. The news that is shown by news channels or that in the newspaper is that the truth? This has raised a very big question. Maybe, 10 or 20 years ago, whatever we saw in news, we believed it to be the truth, that is accurate reportage. Now it's not like that. This is a very big concern for our country. But engaging in such heated debates (on news channels) they are spoiling the atmosphere of the country. They don't do accurate reporting today. Many journalists today have become cheerleaders. Noise has become the new news. The state of Indian media is quite bad," Raghav said.

Sharing the video, Ranveer wrote, "Request to everyone - Please fact check news with official sources before sharing. Avoid fake news and do not forward unverified information. Jai Hind."

Escalation followed India's launch of Operation Sindoor -- a series of focused and precise strikes on nine terror camps located in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK) - in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people.
