A few days ago, the first look teaser of Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana was launched at a grand event in Mumbai. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Raavana, and Sai Pallavi as Sita. In the first look teaser, we got a glimpse of Ranbir and Yash. Well, Ramayana also stars many other actors including actor Arun Govil. The veteran actor, who played the role of Lord Ram in the TV show Ramayan, portrays the character of King Dasharatha, Ram's father, in the movie.
Recently, while talking to Times Of India, Dipika Chikhlia opened up about Arun Govil playing the role of King Dasharatha in Ramayana. She stated, "To see him in a role apart from Ram, I don’t know, I mean, I have seen him as Ram, and I’ve seen myself as Sita. For me to see him as Dasharatha is really a little out of context."
"But then I guess that’s really his choice. It’s very personal as to how people feel. It’s very difficult to break images. I mean, if you played Ram, then you are Ram," she added.
Dipika Chikhlia Reveals If She Would Play Any Other Role In Ramayana
Dipika, who portrayed the role of Sita in the TV show Ramayan, stated that she doesn't think that she will be able to play any other character in Ramayana. She further added that she was not approached for the movie. The actress said, “I was never approached. I guess they have not even bothered to speak to me about it."
Ramayana Release Date
Ramayana will be released in two parts. The first instalment is slated to release on Diwali 2026, and the second part will hit the big screens on Diwali 2027.
After watching the first glimpse of the movie, now everyone is eagerly waiting to witness it on the big screens.
