The much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is set to kick off on March 22, with the first match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. However, ahead of the tournament, cricketer Mohammed Siraj has found himself in the middle of media speculation regarding his personal life.
For the past few months, rumours have been swirling about Siraj’s alleged relationship with actress and Bigg Boss 13 contestant Mahira Sharma. While both Mahira and her mother have repeatedly denied these claims, the speculation refuses to die down. Things escalated further on Thursday (March 20) when Mahira attended an award function in Mumbai, where the paparazzi teased her about IPL and her choice of team.
Soon after videos of paps teasing Mahira surfaced on social media, Siraj requested the photographers not to ask questions about him. However, he did not name anyone in his post.
Taking to his Instagram story on Friday (March 21), the cricketer wrote, "I request paparazzi's to stop asking questions around me. It is completely untrue and baseless. I hope this ends," and added a folded hand emoticon.
It may be mentioned that the post is not available now and the cricketer deleted it just minutes after posting it.

During the event, as soon as Mahira stepped onto the red carpet, photographers bombarded her with questions, saying, "Kal se IPL start ho raha hai. Mahira ji kiske side ho aap? Kaunse team ko support kar rahe ho? Aapke favourite team (From tomorrow, IPL is starting. Whose side are you on? Which team are you supporting? Which is your favorite team?)."
The teasing didn’t stop there. When Mahira refrained from answering, paparazzi playfully suggested, "Ma'am aapki favourite team Gujarat. Mahira ji only Gujarat. Kemcho (Ma’am, your favorite team is Gujarat. Mahira ji, only Gujarat. How are you?)". While Mahira did not respond, she was seen blushing, further fuelling speculations.
Following this incident, Siraj has now spoken up, firmly shutting down the ongoing gossip.
It looks like Siraj has made it clear that he is not interested in engaging with these rumours.
