The Mumbai Police has summoned comedian Samay Raina and YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia to appear before the investigating officer regarding remarks made on India’s Got Latent. Amid the controversy, both have been asked to appear for questioning and to share their side of the story.

However, it is not known when the duo has been called for interrogation.

While Ranveer has issued an apology for his crass and indecent comment during his appearance on the show, Samay has not reacted to the controversy yet.

It looks like Samay will have to cancel his upcoming shows in Canada which are a part of his ongoing North America tour.

Samay recently performed at San Jose Civic in California and he is scheduled to perform in Washington DC on February 13 and in New Jersey on February 14. Post these shows, he will be in Montreal on February 15 and will have two shows in the city.

Post that, as per the comedian's schedule, he will perform in Edmonton (February 16), Winnipeg (February 20), Calgary (February 21), Vancouver (February 22), Toronto (February 23). His tour will end on March 16 in Atlanta.

However, since the Mumbai Police has summoned him, along with Ranveer, he might cancel his shows and return to India.

A complaint was filed with the Mumbai Police Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission in which the complainant alleged that the show used abusive language and made obscene remarks about women. The complaint reportedly states that the remarks were made to gain popularity and financial benefit through online broadcasts.

On February 10, another complaint was filed against Samay, Ranveer and others in Guwahati for promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit and vulgar discussion on India's Got Latent.

The controversy began after videos of Ranveer's crass question to a contestant surfaced on social media platforms. He asked the contestant, "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever."

The episode has been removed following demands to ban the show.
