London: American comedian Chris Rock is to divorce his wife Malaak Compton-Rock after 19 years of marriage, it has been revealed.
The ‘Grown Ups’ star’s attorney announced the split in a statement that read Rock has filed for divorce from his wife, Compton and this was a personal matter and the actor and he requested privacy as the 49-year-old actor and Compton working through this process and focus on their family, the Independent reported.
Compton also released a statement confirming the split that after much contemplation and 19 years of marriage, Rock and she had decided to go their separate ways.
Compton added that her children remain at the center of her life and their well-being is her top priority.
The American actor met his wife in 1993 and has two children.
