BTS member Kim Seokjinm, aka Jin, has once again shown his kindness by stepping up to help those in need. On April 3, 2025, the K-pop star was spotted in Gilan-myeon, Andong City, where he volunteered to serve meals to residents affected by the recent wildfires in South Korea. His selfless act has warmed the hearts of many and drawn admiration from fans worldwide.
According to Korean media reports, Jin participated in meal service volunteer work at Gilan Middle School, a designated relief centre in the wildfire-affected area. Wearing a black cap, a mask, and a grey apron, he quietly served food to the victims, but his presence did not go unnoticed.
Many recognised him despite his efforts to remain low-key, and his kind gestures and words of encouragement provided much-needed comfort to those struggling in the aftermath of the disaster.
Jinβs agency, BigHit Music, shared his motivation behind participating in the initiative. "I decided to participate in volunteer work because I wanted to provide even a small amount of help to those affected by the wildfires," the company told Newsen.
As per media reports, one resident stated, "They said heβs a famous celebrity, but to my eyes, he just looked like a kind and sincere young man," and added, "He didnβt stand out among the other volunteers and just worked hard."
Fans praises Jin's kindness
As news of Jinβs volunteer work spread, ARMYs (BTS fans) took to social media to express their admiration for the singerβs humility and generosity.
One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter), "Heart of gold, I'm so glad I stan the right people."
Another fan shared, "This is why I look up to him, he inspires us all to be better human beings by doing good deeds."
A different user praised Jinβs hands-on approach to charity work, saying, "I don't really give praise so highly when idols donate money to charities because I know to a lot of them, while the money is helpful, that money is spare change. Jin HIMSELF going out there doing the actual legwork to help directly, quietly, is so genuine it makes me cry."
Other BTS members' support for wildfire relief
Jinβs act of service is part of BTSβs broader efforts to support wildfire relief in South Korea. The group has consistently used its platform to contribute to important causes. The youngest member Jungkook previously donated 1 billion won to aid wildfire victims, while RM, J-Hope, and Suga each donated 100 million won to provide further assistance.
