One of the most-loved sitcoms, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, is all set to get a desi adaptation. If reports are to be believed, Netflix India is planning to recreate the sitcom in an Indian set-up, and they have already locked up the Bollywood actor who will step into the shoes of everyone's favourite, Jake Peralta.
According to a report in PeepingMoon, Netflix India is developing the Indian version of Brooklyn Nine-Nine in collaboration with Banijay Asia. And the actor who has been locked to play the role of Jake Peralta in the desi version is none other than Kunal Kemmu.
The show is reportedly set to go on floors in October. The actors who will play Amy Santiago, Captain Holt, and others are not known yet.
Neither Kunal nor the team of Netflix have confirmed the claims yet.
Kunal Kemmu's comic timing
While Kunal has worked across genres in Bollywood, he has received maximum love for his comic roles. He became a fan-favourite with his comic timing in films like Go Goa Gone, Dhol, and Golmaal series.
In 2024, Kunal marked his directorial debut with the madcap comedy, Madgaon Express, and the film was a hit at the box office, with audiences hailing it as one of the best comedy films in recent times.
