The big debate of having two big banner films clash over the Diwali weekend seems to have fizzled out with the weekly box office outcome.
Unlike, the general interpretation, that one film may eat up into the films revenues, for once, we are seeing parallel income for both the mega star movies – Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (ADHM) and Ajay Devgn’s home production ‘Shivaay’, so what if ADHM holds a marginal lead.
After controversies and suspense about the release of ADHM, Karan Johar’s one-sided love affair movie has been appreciated by the audiences world over. For the record, ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ has managed to garner Rs 74.01 crore from the box offices and is at the second spot in terms of highest weekly collection after Sultan.

According to Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweet, “#ADHM passes the non-holiday test… Fri 13.30 cr, Sat 13.10 cr, Sun 9.20 cr, Mon 17.75 cr, Tue 13.03 cr, Wed 7.63 cr. Total: ₹ 74.01 cr.”
Overall, ADHM has already crossed the Rs 100-crore marked from collections across the globe. The film made at Rs 70 crore budget, has crossed the break-even point in mere six days.
On the other hand, Ajay Devgn’s action thriller ‘Shivaay’ which also on 28th October is also doing quite well in domestic and international market.

The total collection for ‘Shivaay’ stands around Rs 64.36 crore from the box offices in India.
Taran’s tweeted, “#Shivaay is SUPER-STRONG on Wed… Fri 10.24 cr, Sat 10.06 cr, Sun 8.26 cr, Mon 17.35 cr, Tue 11.05 cr, Wed 7.40 cr. Total: ₹ 64.36 cr.”
The making cost for ‘Shivaay’ is pegged around Rs 105 crore.
