Amid the ongoing language controversy in Maharashtra, veteran actor Ashutosh Rana has weighed in with a thoughtful take while promoting his upcoming film Heer Express. Speaking at a media event in Mumbai, the veteran actor urged people to view language as a means of connection, not division.

"Mera personal jo maanna hai, woh yeh hai ki bhasha jo hoti hai, woh samvaad ka vishay hoti hai, bhasha kabhi bhi vivaad ka vishay nahin hoti......Toh Bharatvarsh jo hai, woh itna paripakv aur itna adbhut desh hai, jahan par isne saari cheezon ko sweekar kiya hai aur samvaad mein vishwas rakhta hai," he said.

The actor added, "Bharat kabhi bhi vivaad mein vishwas nahin rakhta," while talking about the need for mutual understanding and dialogue.

His statement comes at a time when Maharashtra is witnessing heightened tensions over the three-language policy, which has triggered a political and cultural stir.

Maharashtra language row

The policy has drawn criticism from regional language advocates and fueled a growing divide between the Marathi and Hindi-speaking communities, particularly in the Mira-Bhayandar region.

Recent reports have highlighted escalating tensions in the area, with protests, counter-protests, and marches disrupting normal life.

Maharashtra has also been in the spotlight for multiple incidents of targeted violence where the MNS goons went on a violent spree, singling out Hindi-speaking migrants and thrashing them in public.

Ashutosh Rana's upcoming projects

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ashutosh will next be seen in films like War 2 and Alpha. He also has Heer Express, a family drama, in the pipeline. The film also features Divita Juneja, Pritt Kamani, Gulshan Grover, Sanjay Mishra, and Meghna Malik. It is all set to release on August 8, 2025.
