Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff aka Jaggu Dada has always been impressing his fans with his acting skills and rowdy dialogue delivery. The actor has worked in various super hit films like Ram Lakhan, Parinda, Rangeela, Khalnayak and others. But do you know how much our superstar has struggled to become Jackie Shroff?

Well, born in Gujarati family Jackie Shroff’s real name is Jai Krishan Kakubhai Shroff. Jackie spent his initial days of childhood in a tiny chawl at Teen Batti, Malabar Hill. He along with his family moved to Bandra where he lived at the age of 30.

Jackie was a local nasty boy who used to spend time with local boys. He was popular as Jackie dada among his chawl folks but according to the actor, his elder brother was the real dada of the Chawl. While speaking about his early identity, Jackie told an English daily, “My brother was the real Jaggu Dada of our chawl. He used to take care of our slum people, look after them when in need. But at a very young age, unfortunately, my brother jumped into the sea to save someone. And my brother did not know swimming so he also started drowning. I threw a cable line at him, he held onto it, was floating for few seconds but the cable slipped out of his hands. I was young and scared and I stood there watching him drown. After him, I decided I had to look after my slum people just like he does and then I turned into Jaggu dada.”

During struggling years, Jackie was inclined to style and cooking. However, he got rejected for the post of the chef at Taj due to minimum qualifications. He had also applied for the post of a flight attendant in Air India, where he was again got rejected for the same reason. One day at the bus stop, a man stopped and asked him, will you do modelling? On this question, Jackie had asked, “Will you give me money?” From this moment, his journey towards stardom began.

Jackie Shroff’s first role came as a henchman of Shakti Kapoor in Dev Anand’s Swami Dada. Later, Subhash Ghai gave him his first break in 1983’s super hit, ‘Hero’. The first film of Jackie became a blockbuster since then the star never saw back. He has worked in around 210 films.

In personal life, Jackie Shroff got married to Ayesha Shroff. The duo has two children, son Tiger Shroff and daughter Krishna Shroff. Tiger Shroff is right now a popular actor of Bollywood whereas Krishna Shroff has always been catching eyeballs with her pictures on the social media.

On the work front, Jackie will next be seen in JP Dutta’s war film, Paltan. The film is set to release on September 7, 2018.
