Recently some people had been misusing the actor’s name and making false promises to many people to help them in landing jobs as assistant directors on Akshay’s next film.
The moment Akshay got to know about this, he took to the social networking site, Twitter and cleared the air, “I have heard some upsetting news that some members of my ‘Fan Club’ have been misleading some fans and duping them of money with false promises of landing an Assistant Director’s job on my films. Please don’t be naive and don’t give away your hard earned money to crooks.”
We have heard a lot of stories about fake casting agents and innocents being conned. A source revealed, “This isn’t the start and end of it all. Do you know that a veteran actor’s name is being used to sell drugs that apparently increase libido amongst men? A self-proclaimed ‘hakeem’ has put a picture of him with the actor and is duping men into believing that the actor came to him for help. Then there is another man who once clicked his picture with a veteran character actor and showed them to a couple of girls in Nepal. He promised to make them heroines and then pushed them into the flesh trade in Mumbai.”
After hearing such horror stories, Akshay obviously wants to protect his fans and said, “Well, if you are my fan then you know my story. There is no shortcut to success, so believe in yourself and work hard. To those involved in this scam, may you get what you deserve.”
A source close to the actor informed that Akki really cares for his fans and is very interactive with them on Facebook and Twitter. If you observe him closely, he likes to form a connect with them via social media and shares general awareness as well as jokes and some light hearted banter with his fans. When he was informed of this incident where his name was being misused, he immediately decided to warn his fans.” No excuse now for anyone to fall prey to these con men!
