Badshah Hits Back At X User Claiming Honey Singh Wrote Brown Rang, Takes A Dig At Singer Again Over Song Credits

The exchange on X has once again ignited tensions between Badshah and Honey Singh, who began their careers together as part of the now-disbanded rap collective Mafia Mundeer, which also included Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil Golu. While Honey Singh gained fame with chart-toppers like Brown Rang, Lungi Dance, and Desi Kalakaar, Badshah rose to popularity with DJ Waley Babu, Garmi, and Kar Gayi Chull

The long-standing rivalry between rappers Badshah and Yo Yo Honey Singh has resurfaced once again, this time over the songwriting credits for the hit track Brown Rang. In a recent exchange on X (formerly known as Twitter), Badshah responded sharply to a user who credited Honey Singh for the popular song.

It all began when a fan shared a collage of Honey Singh's drastic physical transformation, one old photo and one recent, and jokingly asked, "What did he eat?" Badshah, never one to hold back, replied with a one-word jab, "Credits."

The comment was widely seen as a sarcastic dig at Honey Singh, implying that the rapper often takes undue credit for songs. The online war didn't end there.

When another user attempted to troll Badshah by writing, "Bass kar de bhai. Ek baar tujhe support kardiye to iska matlab ye nahi har baar karenge. And again, Brown Rang Honey Singh ne hi likha hai," Badshah hit back with, "Chomu, tere support ke liye nahi kar raha main ye."

For those unversed, while Honey Singh has often claimed that he wrote Brown Rang and Angrezi Beat, Badshah had stated in interviews that he had written Brown Rang entirely and the rap for Angreji Beat.

"In 2011, Honey Singh called me to mix a song. At that time I had written Brown Rang. He had the beat. But he had written something weird. I said that something strong should be written on it. Then I wrote Brown Rang," he said in 2024.

The exchange has once again ignited tensions between the two artists, who began their careers together as part of the now-disbanded rap collective Mafia Mundeer, which also included Raftaar, Ikka, and Lil Golu.

The group gained popularity in the early 2010s with underground hits like Khol Botal, Begani Naar Buri, and Delhi Ke Deewane. However, internal disagreements and ego clashes led to a split, with both Badshah and Honey Singh pursuing solo careers.

While Honey Singh gained fame with chart-toppers like Brown Rang, Lungi Dance, and Desi Kalakaar, Badshah rose to mainstream popularity with tracks such as DJ Waley Babu, Garmi, and Kar Gayi Chull.

Over the years, both rappers have taken indirect shots at each other in interviews and on social media, keeping fans divided.
