Former actress Asin Thottumkal, who has appeared in several Bollywood films like Ghajini, Ready, All Is Well, Bol Bachchan, London Dreams, Housefull 2 and others, is celebrating her 38th birthday on Thursday (October 26). Asin was at the peak of her career from 2010 to 2014, however, she took a break from acting after her marriage and has been relatively inactive in the film industry in recent years.
Asin disappeared from public eye after featuring in the 2015 film All The Best with Abhishek Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor and Supriya Pathak.
In 2016, Asin tied the knot with businessman Rahul Sharma, the co-founder of Micromax. Asin and Rahul welcomed their first child, a daughter in 2017.
Where is Asin now?
Asin has been away from showbiz as well as social media. She has an official Instagram account with over 1 million followers. However, she refrains from sharing photos and videos on a regular basis.
Recently, the actress returned to Instagram and gave a glimpse of her daughter Arin's sixth birthday celebrations in Paris. She shared two pictures from the intimate birthday celebrations on her story.
Her last post on Instagram is from October 2022. She had shared photos of Arin's birthday celebration and also penned a heartfelt note.
According to several media reports, Asin deleted several posts from her Instagram account, including the ones with her husband. This led to rumours about her divorce.
However, Asin took to her Instagram story in June 2023 and clarified that the rumours are baseless.
"In the middle of our summer holiday right now, literally sitting across each other enjoying our breakfast and came across some very imaginative and utterly baseless 'NEWS'. Reminds of the time we were sitting at home together with our families planning our wedding and we heard that we had broken up (laughing emoji) Seriously?! Pls do better. (Disappointed to have wasted 5 mins of an otherwise wonderful holiday on this)," she wrote.
Rumours were also rife that Asin is making her comeback in Bollywood, in 2016. However, she reportedly clarified that she has no plans to face the camera again.
Asin made her acting debut with the Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka in 2001. She has also been a part of several Telugu and Tamil films.
