Anupamaa fame Gaurav Khanna, a finalist on the cooking-based reality show Celebrity MasterChef India, is currently competing against Tejasswi Prakash, Nikki Tamboli, Rajiv Adatia, and Faisal Shaikh for the coveted MasterChef trophy and coat. Ahead of the finale episode, a new promo has gone viral on social media, showing the actor breaking down in tears after his parents and wife failed to show up to support him, while the families of other contestants were present.
In the promo, Gaurav was seen telling the judges, "Mein apni trophy aur coat apni family, wife ke paas like jana chahta hoon, kyuki woh aaj nahi aa paaye." Further, the actor was heard saying, "I am getting emotional today. Main hota nahi hoon." Chef Sanjeev Kapoor reminded him that while other contestants' families had come to support them, his had not. Even though his parents had sent him a video message, he chose not to express his emotions and held them back, with a smile on his face.

Further, Gaurav said, 'As an actor, mein apne emotions...' but before he could finish his sentence, he broke down in tears once again. The 43-year-old actor added, "Mein aaj takk camera par roya nahi." Later, Farah Khan and Ranveer Brar walked up to him and gave him a warm hug.
As Gaurav's family missed the finale, his friend Hussain Kuwajerwala arrived to support him. The Anupamaa actor recalled how he had stayed at Hussain's house during his initial days in Mumbai.
The duo first met on the sets of Kumkum: Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan in 2002, where, after the leap, Gaurav was introduced as the younger son of Hussain’s character.
Meanwhile, the Celebrity MasterChef India grand finale is scheduled to take place today (April 11, 2025) at 8:00 PM on Sony Entertainment Television.
