The All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) on Tuesday issued a statement demanding a ban on Samay Raina's show India's Got Latent following Ranveer Allahbadia's controversial 'parents watching sex' question in the latest episode, which sparked outrage and led to multiple police complaints against him. They wrote to Union Home Minister Amit Shaw and Information Broadcasing Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, demanding a strict action against Latent creators.

The association stated that India's Got Latent has previously used offensive language in "multiple episodes, disrespecting Indian culture and values." They further claimed that the show's influence on youth is dangerous, as it promotes toxic ideas that could have long-term negative effects.

Further, they said, "This so-called "talent show" is nothing but a cheap money-making scheme disguised as stand-up comedy. These individuals are self-proclaimed comedians who are using offensive content to increase their YouTube subscribers, manipulate views, and achieve personal fame through controversy."

The association stated that they have banned all individuals associated with India's Got Latent from working in the Indian film industry and urged Bollywood and regional film production houses to refrain from collaborating with them in the future.

AICWA urged the government to introduce a strict censorship law for digital content to prevent such incidents in the future. In addition to AICWA's condemnation, a formal complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and the Maharashtra Women's Commission.

Earlier today, Mumbai Police arrived at Allahbadia's residence in Versova in connection with his remark on the show.

On Monday, after backlash, the influencer, popularly known as BeerBiceps, later apologised for his "lapse in judgement" and said, "My comment wasn't just inappropriate; it wasn't even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here. Many of you asked if this is how I wish to use my platform and obviously, this is not how I wish to use it. I am not going to give any context or justification or reasoning behind whatever happened. I am just here for an apology."

Meanwhile, the episode featuring Ranveer has been removed from YouTube.
