Tamil actor Krishna has gone missing hours after his name cropped up in a major drugs case in Chennai. This comes days after actor Srikanth was arrested in the same drugs case. A manhunt has now been launched for Krishna.
According to reports, Krishna's name came up while the police were investigating the drugs case, and as they decided to nab him for questioning, they found him absconding. Reports stated that the actor has switched off his phone and has gone incommunicado.
A five-member team of the Chennai police has now been set up to find the actor.
Actor Srikanth arrested in drugs case
Krishna's name came up in the investigation days after actor Srikanth was arrested in Chennai for procuring cocaine. He was arrested on June 23 and he has been remanded in judicial custody until July 7, 2025.
The 46-year-old actor was earlier taken to Chennai's Kilpauk Medical College Hospital for a medical examination where he tested positive for having consumed illegal narcotics.
The actor has been accused of buying cocaine worth Rs 12,000.
What is AIADMK member T Prasad's connection to the drugs case?
The entire drugs fiasco came to light after T Prasad, a member of the AIADMK IT wing, got arrested in connection with a brawl at a private bar in Nungambakkam. He was reportedly found to have supplied banned narcotics, including cocaine, to Srikanth.
Reports suggest that Srikanth purchased the cocaine from Prasad during a party linked to the film Theekirai. Notably, the film is co-produced by Prasad, with Srikanth playing the lead role.
