While actor Abhimanyu Dassani enjoys his days off, he tells SHIKHA JAIN why weekdays are special too
Debutant Abhimanyu Dassani of Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota seems to be a family guy and takes work rather seriously. Apart from playing and watching football, this son of Maine Pyar Kiya cutie Bhagyashree and Himalaya Dassani, loves treating himself with desserts to soothe his palate after a busy week. He also likes staying in with his grandparents during his off days – sweet or what?!
Casual weekend
I actually look forward to the weeks – the productive working weeks more than the weekends, and Monday is my favourite. But what I like about the weekends is that most of my friends get free and they have time to come over and chill. I get to spend time with my family and my grandparents on the weekends. I also catch up on films – I love going to the theatre and to have the whole experience of being there and watching a film is fantastic.
Hardcore football fan
My ideal weekend would be watching an Arsenal game or an Arsenal win. Besides that, eating good food and spending time with family and friends and a short getaway would make up my ideal weekend. I love the football club Arsenal and I watch every game and bigger games usually on the weekends. Hence, I can catch up on all the news, thrill, and trivia over the weekend of football.
Slogan to abide by
Not every weekend is memorable. It’s more or less the same and I take it as it comes. Like I said earlier, I look forward to the coming week. I have a slogan which I kind of recite every Monday and it goes – ‘Thank god it’s Monday’.
Sweet-tooth guy
I completely indulge myself on the weekends and eat all the desserts that I can – from tiramisu to ice cream. Well, sushi tops my list too.
A new resolution
I don’t really take short getaways, but that is something that I decided to do this year. I kind of slog, slog and slog for about six-eight months till I really need a vacation and then take off. But I’m going to balance my life and work and do take short getaways.
