Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Session 1 results were out on July 11, 2022. Meet Ved Danait, who is the top-scorer of JEE Mains Session 1 with 99.995 percentile in Mumbai.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

Q1) Which school did you go to?

Ans.) I live in Vile Parle and I went to Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Chatrabhuj Narsee Memorial School.

Q2) Since how long have you been preparing for JEE Mains?

Ans.) I have been preparing for two years, the 11th and 12th. But most of my preparations were focused on JEE Advanced and I gave the last few months for JEE Mains.

Q3) How did you exactly prepare for the exam?

Ans.) I referred to many standard books like H.C. Verma. I had H.C. Verma for Physics and the NCERT for Chemistry. Most of the books that I followed were recommended to me by my teachers at PACE.

Q4) During your preparations, did you come across any phase where you had to go through any mental stress or burden?

Ans.) Of course, there were many ups and downs. Sometimes I was not performing well but the important thing is to keep focusing and do what you’re doing.

Q5) What are your future plans?

Ans.) I hope to do Computer Science at one of the top IITs. I’ll also be appearing for the Session 2 of JEE Mains.

Q6) Throughout your journey, which subject did you realize was your strength?

Ans.) I would say that my Physics is slightly stronger than Chemistry and Mathematics. However, I tried my best to devote equal time to all three subjects.

Q7) At the moment when you actually appeared for your exam, did you believe that you would do so well?

Ans.) I knew I would do well because I was quite well prepared. But it mainly depends on how those three hours of your paper go.

Q8) How did your family and friends react when they came to know about your result?

Ans.) They were all very happy. They congratulated me. I received many calls and messages from my friends.

Q9) After everything is said and done, how are you willing to celebrate this achievement of yours?

Ans.) I would say no major celebrations at this stage. There is still a long way to go. I’ll celebrate after JEE Advanced. Currently, I’m just focussing on JEE Mains Session 2 and JEE Advanced exams.
