Hapur: A major accident was averted on Friday in Uttar Pradesh's Hapur, when plaster from the lintel suddenly fell from the roof of a 5th-class classroom at a government primary school.
The cement and debris came down while the class was in session, causing minor injuries to three students. The injured children were immediately taken to hospital for treatment and the classroom was evacuated.
Panic spread throughout the school following the incident as children started screaming and parents of the affected pupils created a commotion. Visuals of a large amount of debris fallen inside the classroom have surfaced.
Police and administrative officials reached the spot as soon as they received information and took stock of the condition of the building.
Rajasthan School Roof Collapse
Notably, seven students died yesterday following the collapse of the roof of a government school in Rajasthan's Jhalawar. More than 30 others were injured in the incident, with the condition of 11 children reportedly critical. The last rites of six children were performed together on Saturday.
Ex-Gratia Announced
The kin of all 7 children who lost their lives in the tragedy will receive ₹10 lakh each and a contractual job. Additionally, classrooms built in new school buildings will be named after the deceased children.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed deep sorrow over the death of students in Jhalawar district after the roof of a school collapsed. He assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the tragedy and prevent such incidents in the future.
