UP Board Exams 2025: 9 Cheating Incidents, 14 Dummy Candidates Identified On First Day

UP Board Exams 2025: The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) has identified nine cases of unfair means and detected 14 dummy candidates during the UP Board Class 10 and 12 exams on February 24, 2025.

Multiple cases of cheating were reported on the first day of the exams. During the Class 10 board exam's first shift, six students were found cheating in Farrukhabad district and one student was caught in Pratapgarh district. In the second shift of the Class 12 exam, one student was caught in Bijnor and one in Mirzapur districts.

14 dummy candidates were caught on the first day of the UP Board exams. These impersonations were found in different districts, such as Farrukhabad, where six cases were reported, and Ghazipur, with four cases. Cases were also reported from Kannauj, Jaunpur, Firozabad, and Pratapgarh districts, as per the media reports.

The UPMSP reminded candidates of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2024, stating that students caught using unfair means would not face criminal charges, but their answer sheets for the relevant paper would be withheld, and their results declared according to the rules.

UPMSP Secretary Bhagwati Singh also cautioned that strict action will be taken against those or officers who are facilitating unfair practices, including impersonation or cheating.

The examinations were conducted in two shifts the first shift consisted of the Class 10 paper in Hindi and the Class 12 paper in military science, while the second shift consisted of the Class 10 paper in healthcare and the Class 12 paper in Hindi.

As many as 48,76,219 candidates wrote the first day of the exams, with 24,74,862 writing in the morning session and 24,01,357 writing in the afternoon session. As many as 51.49 lakh students had registered for the UP Board exams in total.
