RTE Rajasthan EWS Admission 2025: The government of Rajasthan has started the application procedure for students belonging to economically weaker sections (EWS) to seek admission to private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act. The last date to apply will be April 7, 2025. The act mandates that 25 per cent of the seats in private schools are reserved for EWS students. Every year, thousands of parents apply online for admission to Class 1 under this provision in March and April, and the selection is done by a lottery system.

According to the schedule, the seat lottery will be conducted on April 9, subject to the number of seats available. Students who are chosen in the lottery can choose to attend one of the five schools they had mentioned while applying.

After April 9, 2025, the lottery draw and the names of the drawn students will be displayed online. Parents will then have to opt for one among their five priority schools and make the necessary documentation between April 9 and April 15. Private schools will check the documentation by August 21, and then the final list of the admitted students will be made available.

The first selection list, depending on verification and availability of seats, will be published by NIC on May 9. If any student does not finalise the admission process, a second list will be published. The last date for admission will be August 31.

Rajasthan has more than 31,000 private schools, all of which are required to implement the 25% seat reservation rule under the RTE Act. Under the new education policy, children who are applying for admission to Class 1 should be at least 6 years old as of July 31, 2025. Admission will be allowed only for children who are 6 to 7 years old. RTE admission is one-time only; if the child is not admitted, then in subsequent sessions, he/she cannot apply again. For admission to RTE Rajasthan, students should meet certain residence and income criteria.
