Student Viral Video: A young Indian student got a life-changing treat from a Pakistani immigrant in Canada when he received an extraordinarily large tip, and an even bigger surprise, one day in the restaurant where he worked. A Pakistani-origin nurse and social media influencer named Hamza Aziz, who is based in Canada, posted a video in which he recounted his meeting with Navneet, an Indian student who works as an Uber delivery driver. Not only does this experience expose the challenges faced by international students, but it also emphasizes the difference that kindness and community can make.

Aziz had placed an order, and the incident ensued when Navneet delivered it. There was a mix-up with the order that Aziz had requested Navneet to come back to the restaurant to fix, which Navneet happily obliged. Aziz was so impressed with Navneet's service that he tipped him C$100 (around ₹6,000) for his dedication. It was not only a financial bonus but also a recognition of the struggles Navneet went through to provide for himself as an international student in a new country.

Aziz had further conversation with Navneet, who in turn spoke about his dreams and mentioned the struggles he went through living away from his family. Navneet told me how he dreamed of starting his own barbershop, a goal far away given his need to work and study. Aziz posted about the encounter on his social media platforms, touched by Navneet's story and wanting to highlight Navneet and the experiences of other international students in Canada.

The clip soon went viral, relatable to audiences around the world. And it caught the attention of someone who reached out to Navneet with an offer to pay for his barber training. Navneet was supported by a sponsorship that gave him the tools and training to pursue his dream. Aziz followed up the viral video with one showcasing Navneet's new barbershop, and getting a haircut from him. The story of this person becoming a business owner from being a delivery driver is a good reminder of how the support of your community along with your determination can change your life.
