In a rather unusual turn of events, Rani Durgavati University in Jabalpur forgot to administer the MSc Computer Science exam. Despite releasing the timetable and issuing admit cards, the university failed to organize the examination. The date sheet for the first semester was made available 20 days prior to the scheduled exam date of March 5, 2024. However, the necessary arrangements were overlooked.

MSc Computer Science exams were supposed to commence on March 5. However, upon arriving at the university on Tuesday, students were informed that the exam would not take place and that the university had not even prepared the question papers.

"We spent the entire night preparing for the exam, but upon reaching the university, we were shocked to learn that the administration had forgotten about it," a student expressed to local media.

Sachin Rajak, a leader of the NSUI organization, remarked to local media, "This is a serious case of negligence of university administration. How can they forget the date sheet and other necessary arrangements require to conduct the exam. The students studied hard to appear in the exam but they were made fool. It is a matter of not a small school or college but of a prestigious university."

Frustrated students staged protests at the university, demanding accountability for being misled. In response to the outcry, university vice chancellor RK Verma held a meeting with department heads and engaged with the students.

"An inquiry has been launched into the matter, as the exam controller claimed that the exam had been postponed. However, it remains a mystery as to why the college and students were not informed about this decision. Action will be taken against the responsible officials following the probe report," he added.

As of now, new exam dates have not been announced, and students are advised to stay in touch with their schools to avoid missing any updates.
