NEET PG: The Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) has clarified that its Wellness Centres will not be closed from August 27 to 31, 2026, for the NEET PG examination.
The clarification comes after a notice carrying the CGHS name and logo began circulating, claiming that dispensary services would remain closed during the period because Medical Officers had been assigned flying squad duty for the NEET PG 2026 examination scheduled on August 30.

The Directorate General of CGHS has now termed the notice false and unauthorised.
CGHS wellness centres to function as usual
In a circular dated August 22, 2026, the Directorate said the viral notice had neither been issued nor authorised by CGHS.
It clarified that all CGHS Wellness Centres will continue to operate according to their prescribed working schedules from August 27 to 31.
The department also said that if CGHS personnel are deployed for official duties, the necessary administrative arrangements will be made so that healthcare services to beneficiaries are not disrupted.
What did the fake notice claim?
The unauthorised notice stated that dispensary services would be unavailable from Thursday, August 27, to Monday, August 31, citing the deployment of Medical Officers for NEET PG entrance examination flying squad duty.
It also asked beneficiaries to collect medicines in advance and make arrangements for emergency referrals.
CGHS has specifically asked beneficiaries to disregard this notice.
CGHS issues instructions to wellness centres
The Directorate has directed all Additional Directors of CGHS to ensure that the clarification reaches Wellness Centres and beneficiaries under their jurisdiction.
They have also been asked to make appropriate staffing and duty arrangements to maintain continuity of services and ensure that the unauthorised notice is not displayed or circulated through any CGHS office or official.
The department has taken the unauthorised use of the CGHS name and logo seriously and said information about the source or circulation of the notice may be reported to the Directorate for appropriate action.
