NEET PG 2025 Supreme Court Hearing: The Supreme Court of India is likely to hear a crucial petition today moved by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), requesting permission to hold the NEET PG 2025 examination on August 3. The exam was initially scheduled for June 15 but it was postponed.

NBE's new proposal involves administering the exam in one shift nationwide, away from the two-shift option previously proposed. The decision comes after the Supreme Court earlier raised serious issues regarding the inconsistency of difficulty levels in more than one session, which would undermine the integrity and fairness of the examination.

The shift to one session came in response to a petition by the United Doctors Front against the two-shift model. The petition argued that such a system was likely to introduce unequal standards of assessment and biases in evaluation.

In reply, the court had already sent a notice to NBE requesting clarification and planning logistics to make the examination process uniform. The bench also mentioned that if the board wanted more time to effectively introduce a single-shift model, it could approach the court again for an extension.

With today's hearing, a conclusive ruling on the new exam format and date should provide much-needed clarity for thousands of medical graduates awaiting the next steps in their postgraduate journey.
