A national seminar on ‘Marketing in Agricultural Sector: Role of Supply and Demand Chain Management’ was organized by Lala Lajpatrai Institute of Management (LLIM), last month. Dr V  B Angadi, Director, LLIM welcomed the guests.

P Satish, Chief General Manager, NABARD delivered the inaugural and keynote address where he shared his rich experience in this field. He focused on several supply chain bottlenecks in agricultural marketing.

Dr  C  L Dadhich Honorary Secretary of Society for Agriculture delivered the second address on ‘A Critical Review of Supply and Demand Chain Management in Agricultural Marketing’ where he discussed how the inefficient supply chain is a bane for the sector and its adverse impact on India’s GDP.

Dr  Milind Patil, Lead- Supply Chain Solution, Tata Consultancy Services delivered an insightful analysis on ‘Supply Chain and Technology Interface’ where he discussed the application of technology tailor-made for farmers.
At the technical session chaired by Sunita Shukla, Chief Marketing Manager, Rashtriya Chemical and Fertilizers Ltd, research papers were presented.

The session, attened by nearly 300 delegrates, concluded with the vote of thanks by the seminar convener Prof Arijit Bhattacharya.
