Mumbai: The Maharashtra School Education Department has announced a special round of the Centralised Online Admission Process (CAP) for Class 11 students who have not yet secured admission for the academic year 2026-27.
According to the department's notification issued on August 21, a total of 13,43,418 students have registered for the Class 11 centralised online admission process so far. The special round has been organised for students whose admissions have not yet been confirmed.
Students Must Fill Preferences For 10 Junior Colleges In Special Round
Students participating in the special round will have to fill in preferences for 10 junior colleges. They will also be required to complete and lock both Part 1 and Part 2 of the admission application. The department has advised students and parents to take note of the schedule and complete each stage within the prescribed deadlines.
As per the schedule, vacant seats will be displayed from August 23 at 11 am. Registration of new students and corrections to Part 1 of the application will also be permitted during this period. Students will have to fill and lock their preference form in Part 2 between August 23 and August 24.
Vacant Seats To Be Displayed On August 23 Before Preference Submission
The allotment process is scheduled for August 25. The list of students allotted seats under various quotas, including in-house, management and minority quotas, will subsequently be displayed on the portal. Junior colleges will also publish their admission merit or selection lists. Students will receive admission-related information through SMS.
Students Must Complete Document Verification After Allotment
Students who receive an allotment and agree to the seat will have to proceed to the respective junior college for document verification and payment of the prescribed fees. The college will then confirm, reject or cancel the admission through its login.
For quota admissions, colleges have been instructed to contact eligible students and complete the admission process within the stipulated period. Students selected under the relevant quotas will have to visit the college and confirm their admission after completing document verification.
The schedule also provides for data processing on August 29, followed by the display of vacant seats on August 30 at 11 am. The department has urged students, parents, schools and junior colleges to complete the respective stages of the process on time.
The admission process is being conducted through the official Class 11 centralised admission portal, mahafyjcadmissions.in. The department has also provided a helpline for assistance to students and parents.
