Bengaluru, July 15: In a horrific incident, a girl studying in a prestigeous college at Moodbidri, Dakshina Kannada district, was blackmailed and repeatedly raped by two of her lecturers and one more friend of the lecturers.
The student, unable to bear the harassment by the trio, confessed the assault with her parents, who approached the Karnataka Women's Commission. Since the trio used to bring her from Moodbidri to a room in Marath Halli, Bengaluru, a complaint was lodged at Marath Halli police station. The Marath Halli police have arrested Physics Lecturer Narendra, Biology Lecturer Sandeep and their friend Anoop.
Karnataka Women's Commission Chairperson Nagalakshmi Chowdari said that the girl has been blackmailed and sexually assaulted for over five months. ``The culprits used to black mail her and even used social media to threaten her. At the moment, the girl's complaint has been taken up and the police are investigation on the depth of the case.''
According to the complaint, Narendra had become very close to the girl student, in the guise of helping her with her notes and other studies related issues. Once, he brought her to Bengaluru from Moodbidri and raped her in his friend Anoop's room. He had threatened the girl not to reveal the issue to anyone.
After some days, the Biology lecturer Sandeep tried to molest her in the college and made advances. When she protested, he showed her photos with Narendra and threatened to reveal it to everyone, if she did not cooperate with him. Since then, the two lecturers took turns to bring the girl to Bengaluru and rape her in Marath Halli room.

Meanwhile, Anoop, in whose room the two lecturers used to rape the girl started blackmailing her saying that the entire action had been recorded in the CCTV. He also started raping her. The saga went on for five months and unable to bear the harassment, the girl confessed the incident with her parents, who in turn approached the Karnataka Women's Commission.
Though the girl approached the Karnataka Women's Commission, they took cautious steps of counselling her first and then registering a complaint against the lecturers. Police, who have arrested the three, suspect that there could be more victims of the three and are interrogating the three with this regard.
