Mumbai: The International Management Institute (IMI) Bhubaneswar, in collaboration with EGADE Business School, Mexico, successfully hosted the 10th International Conference on Global Business Environment.
The conference, themed “International Business Diplomacy, Global Trade, and Economic Development in Developing Countries,” served as a vital platform for deliberating contemporary global challenges and opportunities.
The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Krishan Mishra, CEO of FPSB India; Prof Pratap Chandra Biswal, Director of IMI Bhubaneswar; Prof Rajagopal of EGADE Business School, Mexico; and Prof Srikanta Patnaik, Director of InterScience Institute of Management & Technology (IIMT) Bhubaneswar, alongside faculty members and researchers from across the globe.
Renowned institutions such as EGADE Business School, Universidad Anahuac, Universidad Panamericana, Christ University (Bangalore), IMI New Delhi, and St John’s College (Agra) participated in the conference. The event featured nine engaging technical sessions and a workshop dedicated to improving skills in writing and publishing research work, allowing participants to delve into pressing issues and enhance their understanding of global business dynamics.
In his inaugural address, Prof Biswal highlighted the significance of addressing global challenges, such as political changes in major economies and the increasing influence of artificial intelligence on development.
Speaking about the event, Biswal said that the conference offered an unparalleled platform for international collaboration to tackle critical issues in global trade, sustainability, and economic development. He also emphasised the crucial role of artificial intelligence in shaping the future of economies in developing nations.
During his keynote address, Mishra called for a balanced approach that prioritises people, society, and the environment to promote inclusive growth and address urgent societal and environmental concerns. Prof Rajagopal explored the intricate relationship between sustainability, labour, and capital in developing nations, while Prof Patnaik focused on the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on these economies.
A significant highlight of the event was the launch of the 9th Global Business Environment anthology, “Corporate Democracy, Open Innovation, and Growth in Developing Economies.” Published by Palgrave Macmillan, this Scopus-indexed collection presents peer-reviewed research on critical issues in global business.
