Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) will be organising the first computer-based admission lottery for admissions in private schools under the category of Children with Special Needs (CWSN) for the 2025-26 academic session. This draw will be held on March 19, 2025, at 2:30 pm in Conference Hall, Old Secretariat, Delhi-110054. The computerised system used for the lottery ensures a fair and transparent process, ensuring that seats are allocated impartially to eligible students in the CWSN category, free from human intervention.

Delhi Govt Mandates Computerised Draw for EWS, DG, and CWSN Category Admissions

Following earlier instructions, the Delhi government has directed that admissions for students belonging to the EWS, DG, and CWSN categories be made solely through a completely computerised draw of lots with no human intervention. This policy, as stated in a circular issued on February 27 by the Directorate of Education, ensures that admission procedure for these groups at the entry level (nursery, KG, and Class 1) in private schools continues to be fully automated, ensuring transparency and fairness.

DoE Warns Against Fraudulent Claims in Reserved Category Admissions

The Directorate of Education (DoE) has warned against persons or institutions misrepresenting themselves as being able to manipulate or guarantee admissions in the reserved categories. The DoE clarified that stringent action will be taken against any school found engaged in such malpractices. The DoE also requested applicants to report any queries or grievances through the official website or the specified helpline.

On March 5, the first computerised draw of lots for admission in Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Disadvantaged Group (DG) categories in private schools was held, distributing 42,000 seats in entry-level classes. The same computerised method will now be used for admissions in Children with Special Needs (CWSN) also, which will further provide transparency and fairness to the process.
