CLAT 2025: The Delhi High Court will hear petitions regarding the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 today, March 3. The Court will rule on whether the results of CLAT results need to be revised or not. This comes after the Supreme Court ordered CLAT petitions to be transferred to the Delhi High Court, with the order given by a bench headed by Chief Justice of India, Sanjiv Khanna.

This move comes after a judgment by the Delhi High Court on December 20, 2024, when Justice Jyoti Singh partly granted a petition filed by 17-year-old CLAT aspirant Aditya. The petition pointed out two mistakes in the CLAT-UG exam for National Law Universities (NLUs). Justice Singh recognised mistakes in two of the five questions and made it clear that such mistakes could not be ignored.

Accordingly, the court instructed the NLU Consortium to publish updated results with corrected marks for the two challenged questions. The NLU Consortium and Aditya, however, opposed the ruling and appealed the case to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has now decided to hear all the concerned cases simultaneously in order to provide a clear and consistent final judgment on the discrepancies in the CLAT 2025 exams.

The Supreme Court instructed the administrative branches of the high courts to shift all pending cases to the Delhi High Court within a week. In compliance with this directive, the Delhi High Court is scheduled to hear the CLAT petitions today.

The CLAT exam took place on December 1, 2024. Shortly after the release of the answer key, several petitions were filed in different high courts, alleging errors in multiple UG exam questions.

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will start the counselling process for CLAT 2025 soon, but it has been delayed because of the Delhi High Court order regarding the modification of the CLAT results.
